Is this a USAT sanctioned event? Yes. This is a USAT Bronze Sanctioned Event
What kinds of teams are allowed? You can have all male, all female or mixed. The order does not have to be 1 person swim, another bike and another or the first person run. You can have the same person do 2 events in a row if you like (e.g. Dave swims, Dave bikes and Robin runs).
Can my own champion chip be used at the Lake George Triathlon?Yes, but you need to have it scanned prior to starting the race by Score-This.
Will wetsuits be allowed? Yes. The water temperature is typically in the low 70's in the late summer.
What are this distances of the race converted into miles? A 1.5K swim (.932 mile), 40K (24.8 mile) bike and 10K (6.2 mile) run are true Olympic (International) Distances in triathlon.
What will be at the aid stations? Gatorade will be at all aid stations (bottles on the bike), transition areas and post race. Water will also be available.
What are the road intersections like during the race? The road intersections will have volunteers at each location directing bike traffic – NOT road traffic. The road traffic will be directed by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police. Please do not assume that they will be able to stop traffic at all intersections. Slow down and be prepared to stop if necessary.
If I win an award, do I have to be present to receive? Yes, awards will not be mailed.
How does the food tent work? The food tent is for race participants only. You will be required to wear your race bracelet in order to enter the food tent area.
Will transition area be closed? The transition area will be closed to racers only. New this year will be bracelets that you will be required to show to enter the transition area. As always, volunteers will be there to make sure that the bike you are taking out of transition area matches your race number.
Can I take my stuff out of transition after I finish the race? Eventually yes, but in order to keep the transition area clear, we ask that you wait until the majority of racers are finished. We will make an announcement as to when you can take your equipment out of the transition area. This will be when all racers are out on the run course.
