Ironman World Championships: Paul Fronhofer. Here is a report from Kevin Crossman:
On October 13th, Paul competed in the highest level of triathlon, the Ironman World Championships, held in Kona, Hawaii. Paul finished with a time of 10:26.38, good for 503rd out of almost 1,800 competitors. His splits for the event which consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run were 1:10.16, 5:01.57, and 4:07.13, respectively. His split of 5:01.57 on the bike was the 95th overall fastest. He contributes this success to the custom made sponsored bike by Serotta.
Xterra World Championships: Paul Fronhofer, Mara Fronhofer. Report from Kevin Crossman:
From speaking with them: Mara had a terrific race and finished 7th in her age-group and finished with the time she was hoping for.
Paul, he was having a great race until he flatted (not once, twice, or even three times, but FOUR). He rode the final nine miles in on his rim. Right before he flatted and had just caught the leader in his age-group.
